Deported Tamil asylum seeker harassed by Sri Lankan authorities

A Tamil asylum seeker who was deported from Australia last week continues to face harassment and intimidation from Sri Lankan security forces, The Guardian reported. 

Shantaruban was interrogated by Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers for over four hours upon his arrival to Colombo last Thursday, and since then he has been visited twice by security officials. 

His phone was checked and they interrogated him further about his whereabouts during the end of the armed conflict, the paper reported.
