Sri Lankan troops ‘clean up’ Mallavi hospital

Hundreds of Sri Lankan soldiers and Civil Security Department members were involved in cleaning up shrubs and wild plants from around Mallavi hospital last month.

More than 500 hundred troops of 65 Division were involved in the clean up exercise at the Mallavi Base Hospital in Thunukkai.

Troops were reportedly sent in following a request from the chief medical officer, and undertook the task “while symbolizing communal harmony in the area” according to an official army website.
