Students from the University of Jaffna held an event on campus to commemorate Annai Poopathy who fasted unto death 38 years ago.
The students laid flowers before a portrait of Annai Poopathy, who died on April 19, 1988, after a month-long fast without food or water in protest against the injustices and atrocities committed by the Indian Peace Keeping Force.
