Ranil’s attempt to reach detained Pillayan blocked, as paramilitary leader cries in jail

A request by former Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe to speak with detained paramilitary leader Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, also known as Pillayan, has been denied by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), according to the Public Security Ministry.




Sri Lanka has chosen not to proceed with a proposed land connectivity project with India at this time, despite Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi referring to the initiative during recent bilateral discussions during his three-day visit, reported by the Daily Mirror on Friday.
