The recently ceasefire between Ukraine and pro-Russian separatists in the eastern regions has been violated several times reported international monitors on Monday.

A spokeswoman for the US State Department said monitors had reported attacks continuing in several cities.

“These aggressive actions and statements by the Russia-backed separatists threaten the most recent ceasefire and jeopardise the planned withdrawal of heavy weapons, as called for in the February 12 Minsk packet of implementing measures," she said.
