“I am pleased to extend my warmest greetings to my fellow Canadians celebrating Thai Pongal and Tamil Heritage Month,” said Trudeau in a message released this week.

“The month of January also marks Tamil Heritage Month in Canada, a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the history, resilience and strength of the Tamil community,” he added.

“Let us all take this chance to recognize the many contributions Tamil Canadians have made, and continue to make, to our country.”
