Local residents and volunteers are making the final preparations for Maaveerar Naal commemorations in Mullaitivu this morning.
Red and yellow flags are being erected on Mullaitivu beach despite the heavy rains and floods that have hit the North-East this week.
Flags have also been hoisted across the district to mark the day.
