Jaffna Uni students pay tribute at suspended Mullivaikkal memorial

Jaffna University students held a memorial yesterday evening at the suspended Mullivaikkal monument on campus.

Construction on the monument, which was initially started last month with approval from the university administration, was suspended after pressure from Colombo.

Students had hoped to have the monument completed by May 18, but went ahead and laid lamps and paid tribute at the partially built structure.
