ITAK commemorate fallen Tamil fighters in Mannar

The Ilankai Tamil Arasu Katchi (ITAK) commemorated fallen Tamil fighters in Mannar to mark Maaveerar Remembrance week.

A flame was lit outside the party's Mannar office yesterday to remember the Tamil fighters who gave their lives to the liberation struggle. ITAK leader CVK Sivagnanam and M A Sumanthiran were amongst those present at the remembrance event.

Commemoration events are taking place across the Tamil homeland and the diaspora in the lead up to Maaveerar Naal - or Great Heroes' Day - which falls on November 27. The day is observed annually to remember fallen Tamil cadres who sacrificed their lives.
