Sri Lankan government moves to acquire Tamil-owned land in Jaffna for the navy use

The Sri Lankan government has initiated steps to acquire two acres of land for the Navy in occupied Tamil Eelam.

The proposed acquisition concerns a two-acre plot located in the Naguleswaram Grama Sevaka Division under the Tellippalai Divisional Secretariat in Jaffna, where the Navy intends to establish a radar installation.

In the Vaddukoddai North region, the Sri Lankan Navy continues to occupy approximately 300 acres of privately owned land.

This move comes despite repeated assurances from successive administrations, including the current Sri Lankan president, that lands belonging to the Tamil people would be returned to their rightful owners and that all privately owned lands under military occupation would soon be released.
