Former Northern Provincial Councillor, Ananthy Sasitharan, said “we will continue to pursue the path to seek international justice” and that the current cabinet is inherently racist and set up in a manner that leaves Tamils victim to structural genocide.

Sasitharan, the Secretary-General of Eela Thamizhar Suyaadsi Kazhakam - a subordinate party of Tamil People's National Alliance (TPNA) - said she also expects the newly-elected Tamil MP’s to also “preserve the existence of the people and the presence of the Tamils in this country.”

“As long as we continue to walk on this soil, we will ensure that we fight to prompt an international inquiry and ensure that we get justice for the genocide enacted against Tamils,” she added.

She warned that, “the dominance of the military has been exercised on many fronts since the end of this parliamentary election, so we have the question of not only whether the Tamils will continue to seek justice but also how to protect our people from structured genocide.”

Sasitharan made the comments to the media after visiting Mullivaikkal with newly-elected parliamentarian and leader of the Thamizh Makkal Thesiya Kootani (TMTK) C.V. Wigneswaran, earlier this month. Other Tamil party leaders and supporters of the TMTK party were there to pay floral tributes at the Mullivaikkal memorial.
