Families of Maaveerar (fallen LTTE cadres) buried in the destroyed Kanchikudicharu thuyilum illam, in Amparai, cleared the cemetery on Friday, in preparation for Maaveerar Naal.
The families said that despite threats and opposition, they were determined to clear the thuyilum illam to hold large-scale commemorations on November 27, the Tamil national remembrance day.
