South Sudanese opposition leader Lam Akol was barred from boarding a plane to attend peace talks in Ethiopia reports Reuters.
Mr Akol, who belongs to the side-lined Shilluk ethnic group, said,
“Unfortunately a major general of the police told us that he has directives from the Presidency that the leaders of political parties are not allowed to travel without the permission form the presidency.”
Mr Akol was South Sudan’s foreign minister during its semi-autonomous stage before independence in 2011.
