ICC delegation to visit Israel at end of month

A delegation from the prosecutor’s office of the International Criminal Court  is due to arrive in Israel at the end of the month as part of a preliminary investigation into whether war crimes and crimes against humanity were committed in occupied Palestinian territories.

An independent attorney acting as an advisor to the Palestinian Authority told Harretz that the visit was a good sign that showed the ICC was taking the issue seriously.

Commenting on the visit, a senior Israeli official dealing with the visit, said that it was a routine part of the ICC process and did not amount to significant “progress of the examination or its pace.”
