Boris Johnson refutes Tony Blair's calls for Iraq intervention

The City of London Mayor Boris Johnson, writing in the Telegraph today,  rebutted former Prime Minister Tony Blair’s calls for military intervention in Iraq.

“It would be wrong and self-defeating to conclude that because we were wrong over Iraq, we must always be wrong to try to make the world a better place. But we cannot make this case – for an active Britain that is engaged with the world – unless we are at least honest about our failures,” wrote City of London Mayor Boris Johnson, in response to Tony Blair’s calls for intervention in Iraq.

Speaking to the BBC he said,
"I don't think you need to rule out all intervention around the world just because of the disaster that happened in 2003, but you need to acknowledge what went wrong in order not to undermine the case for Britain playing a positive part in being engaged around the world.
