ICC confirms Gbagbo crimes against humanity

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has confirmed four charges of crimes against humanity against Laurent Gbagbo, former President of Côte d’Ivoire.

An ICC Pre-Trial Chamber confirmed the charges for murder, rape and other inhumane acts and committed Gbagbo to trial.

The case will examine atrocities committed in 2010 and 2011, including the shelling of a densely populated area and also atrocities committed during marches and demonstrations.
