Israel's Foreign Minister, Avigdor Liberman asserted that Israel should reoccupy the Gaza strip, citing reports that 41 rockets were fired from the Palestinian territory into Southern Israel.
"We need to reoccupy Gaza," said Liberman in an interview to Channel 2 television.
Speaking to the BBC, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad group, who claimed responsibility for the rocket fire said it was in retaliation for an Israeli air strike that killed three Palestinian fighters.
The group's spokesperson added,

"The rocket fired today came in response to the occupation aggression against us and does not mean the collapse of the ceasefire agreement [with Israel]."In a statement made before the rocket fire, the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) said,
“Israel is intentionally working to generate a culture of violence,”
