The largest group in Syria’s opposition coalition says it will not take part in the proposed United Nations peace negotiations arranged in Geneva.
The Syrian National Council (SNC) leader George Sabra, said that he conditions for talks were not right whilst Syrians continued to suffer.
Commenting on his decision, Sabra asked,
“Ghouta is under siege and its forbidden to even bring in bread. Are these the conditions that will allow us to achieve a democratic transition in Syria?”
Sabra also condemned the international community’s failure to punish the Syrian government for the chemical weapons attack in late August, stating,
“The international community has focused on the murder weapon, which is the chemical weapons, and left the murderer unpunished and forgotten the victims.
