Sudan’s President Omar Hassan al-Bashir will not attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York, an official said today.
Despite an outstanding arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court, Bashir had initially planned to attend the General Assembly. The ICC had urged the US to arrest Bashir upon his visit.
No official reason has been provided for the Sudanese president’s change of plans.
