Egypt court bans all Muslim Brotherhood activities

An Egyptian court has banned “all activities” of former ruling party the Muslim Brotherhood.

The ‘Cairo Court for Urgent Matters’ said the ruling applied to the Brotherhood’s registered NGO and any affiliated groups and also ordered that the freezing of the Brotherhood’s assets.

The military-backed interim government of Egypt has been cracking down on the Brotherhood since ousting President Mursi in early July, detaining dozens of senior figures on suspicion of inciting violence and murder.
