Burma to collaborate with UN nuclear weapons inspectors

Burma has reportedly agreed to give United Nations weapons inspectors wider access to facilities that could be used to develop nuclear technology.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said on Monday that Burma is set to ratify the UN’s Protocol on nuclear disarmament, which wold give inspectors broad discretion to visit contentious nuclear facilities.

Although Burma has repeatedly denied allegations of developing nuclear weapons the IAEA has requested access to the country since 2011.
