Kenya radio DJ faces ICC trial

A Kenyan radio boss that reported on post-election violence that left hundreds dead in 2007 is to face trial at the International Criminal Court (ICC) on Tuesday for hate speech and organising killings.

Joshua arap Sang will be tried for crimes against humanity accused of murder, deportation or forcible transfer of population, and torture and persecution of political opponents.

Sang allegedly used coded messages broadcast on the radio to incite and help coordinate attacks against political and ethnic rivals.

He is to plead not guilty at the ICC.
