The meeting was announced by Sri Lanka’s Ministry of External Affairs, who also announced that they would be holding three other events on the sidelines of CHOGM. The Business Forum in Colombo, the Youth Forum in Hambantota and the People’s Forum in Dambulla were all being arranged by Sri Lanka and all taking place in the south of the island.
Sharma came under intense scrutiny at a press conference in London on Friday after the 39th meeting of the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG), where he staunchly defended Sri Lanka's "progress".
