Preparations will take place at destroyed LTTE cemeteries, also known as a Thuyilum Illams, across the North-East in the lead up to Maaveerar Naal which falls on November 27.

The cemeteries were destroyed by the Sri Lankan military following the end of the armed conflict in May 2009. However, each year, families of fallen LTTE cadres and local residents restore the resting places to ensure that people can remember fallen cadres on Maaveerar Naal.
