Tamil Eelam’s men’s football team has been crowned champions of the CONIFA Asia Cup after a 5–0 victory over East Turkistan in the final.
East Turkistan kicked off and immediately pressed the Tamil Eelam defence with a long ball targeting the wings, but a disciplined back line caught their forward offside. With possession regained, Tamil Eelam settled into their rhythm, confidently moving the ball across the pitch. Niruban (5) and Keerthihan (15) were particularly composed, helping to maintain control and feed passes into the channels. Although East Turkistan started with high energy, Tamil Eelam managed to absorb the pressure, dominating possession and dictating the tempo throughout the opening 15 minutes. A breakthrough felt inevitable and it began with Senthuran (8).

Senthuran (8) picked up the ball in midfield and played a sharp pass into Prashshanth (7), who found Adshayan(11) with a precise first touch. Under pressure, Adshayan (11) returned the ball immediately as two East Turkistan defenders slid in. Prashshanth (7) then delivered a low cross, picking out Thomas (10) on the right side of the box. The playmaker controlled it calmly, cushioning the ball before laying it off to Senthuran (8), who had continued his run to the edge of the area. Without hesitation, Senthuran (8) drilled a powerful low shot into the bottom left corner. Tamil Eelam 1 – 0 East Turkistan.

Chasing an equaliser, East Turkistan focused their attacks down the right flank, but their passes were often intercepted or overhit. Tamil Eelam remained alert and disciplined, quickly regaining possession and disrupting any momentum. As a result, East Turkistan struggled to progress up the pitch, with much of their possession confined to their own half.
Tamil Eelam began to apply sustained pressure, with three shots blocked in quick succession by the East Turkistan defence and the goalkeeper forced into a sharp low save. While a few chances did open up for East Turkistan on the counter, Niruban (5) and Ninon (6) were composed and clinical in their defensive duties, consistently breaking down any threat in the final third. As the half drew to a close, Thomas (10) came close to doubling the lead following a left-footed trivela cross from Naveen (22). The whistle blew for half time Tamil Eelam 1 - 0 East Turkistan.

The second half kicked off with Tamil Eelam immediately on the offensive, earning the first corner of the half after a well-struck effort from number Senthuran (8) was parried away by the East Turkistan goalkeeper in the first two minutes. Tamil Eelam continued the attack with the left foot of Naveen (22) testing the keeper again minutes after. Thomas (10) collected the ball at the edge of the box, dribbled across goal, and delivered a well-placed cross into the area. Senthuran (8) timed his run perfectly and met it with a clinical one-touch finish to find the back of the net. Tamil Eelam 2 – 0 East Turkistan.
To the beat of drums echoing from the stands, Tamil Eelam’s attack remained relentless. Another corner was earned after Prashshanth (7) shot was pushed wide by the goalkeeper. Shortly after, Tamil Eelam made their first substitution, with Adshayan 11 making way for the promising young talent, Yaathav (2). East Turkistan began to settle into the half, winning a free kick in a promising position. Goalkeeper Ahrvinthan (1) remained composed, reacting well to push the shot wide. East Turkistan took the resulting corner quickly, but Ahrvinthan (1) was alert, collecting the ball confidently before launching a swift distribution to Ninon (6), who had sprinted down the left wing. Ninon (6) then picked out Prashshanth (7), whose shot drifted wide of the target. Tamil Eelam's second substitution saw Naveen come off for the Dutch dangerman Aathiththan (28) .
A long ball from Ninon (6) split the defence and sent Thomas (10) through on goal, but he was brought down by an East Turkistan defender in a last-ditch challenge. The referee showed no hesitation, issuing a straight red card. Senthuran (8) stepped up to take the free kick, looking to complete his hat-trick. However, the East Turkistan goalkeeper reacted sharply, diving to make an impressive save and keep his side in the game. Tamil Eelam were awarded their 12th corner of the match. Senthuran (8) delivered a well-whipped ball into the box, finding captain Prashshanth (7). He brought it down comfortably and fired a powerful left-footed shot that struck the post, beating the fully outstretched East Turkistan goalkeeper. The rebound fell kindly, and Thomas (10) was quickest to react, heading the ball into the back of the net. Tamil Eelam 3 – 0 East Turkistan.

Tamil Eelam continued to control possession confidently at the back. Ahrvinthan (1) picked up the ball and launched a precise long-range pass that found Thomas (10) just past the halfway line. With a brilliant flick, he evaded an East Turkistan defender, then brought the ball down before playing a piercing pass through to Aathiththan (28). Through on goal, Aathiththan (28) unselfishly squared the ball to his right, where Sharushan (9) calmly slotted it into the net. The Dutch duo combined to make it Tamil Eelam 4 – 0 East Turkistan.
Play restarted, but Tamil Eelam immediately dispossessed the East Turkistan midfield. Ninon (6) found Yuvva 23, whose quick feet and skillful nutmeg beat a defender before slipping Aathiththan (28) through on goal. Shielding the ball well, Aathiththan (28) delivered a left-footed cross into the box. A heavy deflection off an East Turkistan defender redirected the ball into the back of the net. Tamil Eelam 5 – 0 East Turkistan.
Tamil Eelam wanting more still on the attack, Sharushan (9) with a brilliant pass found Yaathav (2), whose chip was pushed wide by the keeper, and the follow-up shot hitting the side netting. The final whistle blew.
