A Tamil man has been seriously injured and hospitalised following a bomb attack in his home in Mannar last night.
Semalai Santhiyogu, a 59-year-old father-of-two, was admitted with serious injuries to Mannar Hospital, following the incident.
Santhiyogu’s son allegedly got into a heated dispute with a group of unknown persons in the local area. The group has been accused of going to Santhiyogu’s house last night and destroying all the CCTV cameras on the property and launching a country bomb over the wall into the front of the house.
The Mannar police department and forensic experts are currently carrying out an investigation into the incident and also a further investigation into the other altercations that occurred beforehand.
