The UN Secretary General Bank Ki-moon condemned the move by the government to expel Toby Lanzer.
The Secretary General’s statement said that Mr Lanzer had been “instrumental in addressing the increasing humanitarian needs of conflict-affected communities in the country, and ensuring that life-saving humanitarian assistance reaches the most vulnerable.”
According to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, over 4 million people in South Sudan are in need of food aid.
Militants allied to the former Vice President, Reik Machar have been fighting with the president’s forces for over 18 months.
