Tamil Eelam FA defeated East Turkistan to advance to the finals of CONIFA Asia Cup 2025.
Defending champions Tamil Eelam played their second match of the CONIFA Asia Cup 2025 against the tournament debutants East Turkistan at the Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub in Walton-on-Thames, London.
Building on the momentum after their win against Tibet in the first game, Tamil Eelam started the match with great energy, pressing the East Turkistan defence.
But East Turkistan defenders did well in the first 30 minutes and made life difficult for the defending champions.
When Tamil Eelam FA needed a breakthrough to ease their title defence, Yaathav L delivered in the 34th minute with a brilliant finish. After receiving the ball from Yadush, he wasted no time and fired a low, precise shot into the bottom left corner, beating the fully stretched goalkeeper to give Tamil Eelam the crucial lead.
East Turkistan began to push forward, attacking down the right wing. One of their strikers, quick on the turn, unleashed a curling shot aimed at the bottom left corner. But goalkeeper Braveenth reacted swiftly, diving to push it wide of the post
From then on, the Leopards never looked back. Their lead was doubled in the 53rd minute when Sanujan V struck a brilliant finish, capitalising on an equally impressive cross-field assist.
East Turkistan battled hard, and a late header from the East Turkistan forward, brought the team back into contention, but Tamil Eelam held their nerve, and the game ended with a win.

The tournament has one game left in the league stage, and the winner of which will play against Tamil Eelam FA on 4th of July at the Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub in Walton-on-Thames, London.
