Sri Lankan Air Force celebrates 6th anniversary in North-East

The Sri Lankan Air Force celebrated the 6th anniversary of establishing bases in Mullaitivu and Iranamadu last week, with a series of events in the Tamil North-East.

In Iranamadu, located in the Kilinochchi district, troops held a military parade and donated blood.

Meanwhile in Mullaitivu, Sri Lankan troops swept up leaves and cleared shrubbery at the District General Hospital. The hospital was repeatedly targeted by Sri Lankan artillery during the final stages of the armed conflict.

Sri Lankan soldiers also held a cricket tournament and lunch to celebrate the anniversary.
