On the 28th of February, activists in Jaffna handed out school stationary and shoes to students from families that were detrimentallly affected by the ethnic conflict.

On the 26th February, aid was given to families of the disappeared in Batticaloa. Naangal’s head activist in Batticaloa, Balasingham Murali, handed over the aid and funding to 21 families of the disappeared in the Sengaladi region.

Mr Murali said that the Naangal organisation would continue to provide humanitarian aid to war affected regions in the North-East.
On the 21nd of March, the organisation provided school stationery to 144 orphaned students in Kilinochichi. Local religious leaders, university students and representatives from other civil society organisations attended the event.

The organisation has also been involved in mobilising protests across the North-East rejecting Sri Lankan domestic inquiries into the disappeared and war-time atrocities whilst calling for an internationalised process.
