Advancing Houthi militants in Yemen agreed to UN-brokered peace talks with Yemen’s government on Friday.
A senior member of the Houthi Militant political wing, “Daifallah al-Shami, speaking to Agence France Presse, said,
“We accepted the invitation of the United Nations to go to the negotiating table in Geneva without preconditions.”
An official form the US State Department had previously met Houthi representatives in Oman to also discuss the prospects of peace talks.
