Former Gaddafi minister sentenced to death

A criminal court in Libya sentenced the education minister from Gaddafi’s era, Ahmed Ibrahim, to death today, for murder and inciting violence during the 2011 uprising that ended in the disposition of Gaddafi.

The lawyer representing the victims told Reuters that the former minister, Ibrahim, was found guilty of undermining national security and plotting the killing of civilians. Ibrahim held several positions under Gaddafi, including education and information minister.
