Siobhain McDonagh

"On Remembrance Day, I joined Tamils around the world to solemnly remember and honor the lives of those who sacrificed for peace, justice and dignity. I pause to reflect on the courage, resilience and unwavering commitment of the Tamil people who continue to campaign for justice, peace and self determination. Let us honor the memories of those who sacrifice by carrying forward their spirit of resilience and hope for future where Tamil people can live in Sri Lanka with self-determination, dignity and security, our resolve to achieve self-determination and justice for Tamils living in Sri Lanka remains as strong as ever in."

John McDonnell

"Today is Tamil Remembrance Day. It's a day when we remember all those who suffered and lost their lives as a result of the genocidal action of the Sri Lankan military. We continue to discover mass graves, and the impression continues with prisoners not being released, and at the same time, the failure to establish a true path towards Tamil self-determination. That is why we need an international investigation to find the truth and also to point the way a just future for the Tamil people."
