The United States Senate adopted a resolution today calling on the Senate to commemorate the Armenian genocide, reports the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).
The Executive Director of the ANCA, Aram Hamparian, urging Obama to acknowledge the Turkish cover up of genocide, said,
According to Turkishpress, the Turkish Foreign Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu, responded to the resolution by calling the US Secretary of State , John Kerry, to convey Turkey’s disappointment with the resolution.

“Today’s vote affirms America’s commitment to truth, deals a serious setback to Turkey’s campaign of genocide denial and sends a clear message to President Obama that he must end his administration’s complicity in Ankara’s cover up of this crime.”
