The US Embassy in Colombo is launching a new programme to promote greater understanding of social media.
The Social Media Lab will offer free courses to beginners, intermediate and advanced users of social media at the American Centre in Colombo, according to a press release by the embassy.
“We have done a number of social media trainings over the past few years, and want to formalize these trainings thorough a system of educating the public on social media best practices,” said Christopher Teal, the director of the American Center.
“Our ultimate goal with the Social Media Lab is to foster a greater understanding among Sri Lankans about social media and to inspire people to engage more effectively online.”
