US moves jets to Turkish air base in fight against Islamic State

The United States sent in six F016 jets and 300 personnel to a Turkish Air Base to fight Islamic State militants.

The Pentagon, in a statement made on Sunday, said,

“The United States and Turkey, as members of the 60 plus-nation coalition, are committed to the fight against ISIL, in the pursuit of peace and stability in the region.”

Last month, Turkey announced its intention to allow its military base in Ankara to be used by the US-led coalition to combat Islamic State advances.
