The UN sponsored talks, ended with an appeal by the global body for $1.6 billion emergency aid to avoid a humanitarian crisis in the region.
The UN Undersecretary General for Humanitarian Affairs Stephen O’Brien appealed for aid donations, warning that Yemeni families “no longer have access to clean water, proper sanitation or basic health care.”
The fighting against the Houthi militants since March has seen over 2,500 people die.
