The Conservatives, Lib Dems and Labour leadership all backed air strikes though some MPs voiced concerns over further implications of airstrikes against the IS.
Labour MP Iain Mckenzie was sacked as an aide to the shadow defence secretary after failing to back party calls for air strikes.
Meanwhile US led air strikes earlier today destroyed at least four Islamic State tanks on the outskirts of Baghdad on Friday announced the Pentagon.
