Tamils celebrate Christmas in the North-East

Eelam Tamils are celebrating Christmas across the North-East today.

Tamils gathered at St Mary's Church in Jaffna for midnight mass. This year's service was held on a smaller scale as the churches had requested worshippers to help those affected by the recent Cyclone Ditwah.

In Mannar, Tamils gathered at St Sebastian's Church for midnight mass to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. During the service, prayers were also made for those who lost their lives in Cyclone Ditwah.

Tamils also celebrated the day at Gandhi Park in Batticaloa
