Tamils in Batticaloa raise black flags as Sri Lanka marks 75th Independence Day

Tamils in Batticaloa held a rally to reject Sri Lanka's 75th Independence Day, the unitary state structure and the 13th Amendment.

Sri Lanka's Independence Day is deemed as a 'black day' for the Tamil nation as it continues to be occupied by the state and denied rights, including the right to self-determination.

Similar rallies are taking place in Mullaitivu and Jaffna today.
