Sri Lankan and Chinese Foreign Minister are to expand economic cooperation

Sri Lanka’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Ali Sabry, has concluded his diplomatic visit to China, during which he agreed with Chinese Minister of Finance, Liu Khan, to expand economic cooperation between the two countries.

The visit Sri Lanka’s failure to secure a debt restructuring plan with China and being forced to hold separate discussions with the Chinese as part of the International Monetary Fund support. 

During the World economic Forum, Sabry engaged in a number of discussions and spoke about Sri Lanka’s economic crisis. The island continues to suffer from high inflation and shortages in basic goods.
