Sri Lanka receives Indian naval ship

The Sri Lankan navy received a ship from the Indian government on Saturday.

The Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) was provided by India to Sri Lanka “in a bid to expand its operational capabilities,” according to an official military website.

A military ceremony was held to receive the ship, which will join the Sri Lankan Coast Guard.
