The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, today, outlined that Moscow would not order its armed forces to cross over the Ukrainian border into the eastern Ukraine.
Speaking on Russian state television, he said,
Lavrov further added that recent discussions with contacts in the west suggested that they were close to a “possible joint initiative which could be presented to our Ukrainian colleagues.”
The foreign minister’s comments come after the White House, announced yesterday that the American and Russian president had discussed matters on the phone.
