The Ukrainian government and pro-Russian militants signed a ceasefire deal as NATO leaders agreed to form a robust alliance against Russia’s aggression on Friday.
Though the militants said that the ceasefire had not changed their politics of advocating for separation from Ukraine, a ceasefire was agreed to commence by 15:00 GMT, reports the BBC.
The NATO Secretary General, on Friday, announced that leaders had agreed to maintain a continuous presence and activity in the air, on land and at sea in Eastern Europe, which would also entail preparing a “NATO Response Force” to be deployed at short notice.
“This spearhead will include several thousand land troops ready to deploy within a few days with air, sea and Special Forces support, said, Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
