The Nigerian government said it will investigate allegations of rape, child trafficking and other abuses, alleged to have happened in camps for refugees fleeing from Boko Haram.
A spokesperson for Nigeria's National Emergency Management Agency (Nema) told the BBC an investigation team would visit every camp for the displaced.
Ezikial Manzo said the allegations were "very serious" and that the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR) report which shed light on the issue, was the first indication of abuses that Nema received, adding that the panel would "do everything in their power" to investigate.
Around 3.2 million Nigerians are displaced due to the ongoing violence in the country's northeast, half of which have fled to neighbouring countries.
