Israeli teenagers reportedly kidnapped in West Bank

Israeli military officials said three Israeli teenagers are presumed to have been kidnapped in the   West Bank, after they were reported missing on Friday.

Extensive searches are being conducted around the Hebron area, reported the New York Times, with top security officials stating that the Palestinian authority was responsible for the safety of the missing boys.

However, the spokesman for the Palestinian Authority police in the West Bank,  Maj. Gen. Adnan Dameiri, told the New York Times, that the area was under Israeli control. Speaking on the incident Dameiri said, “It is not under our security control or jurisdiction. It is part of Israel’s security responsibility... We are committed to all agreements we signed with Israel.”

Israel has arrested over 60 Palestinian suspects so far  on suspicion of planning kidnappings, since the start of 2013.
