The Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday reiterated the country's support for an independent state of Kurdistan ahead of the planned independence referendum on Septemeber 25.
"[Israel] supports the legitimate efforts of the Kurdish people to achieve their own state,” Mr Netanyahu was quoted by Reuters as saying.
According to the news wire, an Israeli general said at a conference last week in Washington that he did not view the PKK as a terrorist group.
