The leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei accused Saudi Arabia of committing genocide by carrying out air strikes in Yemen against Houthi militants.
"This is a crime and genocide that can be prosecuted in international courts ... Riyadh will not emerge victorious in its aggression," said Mr Khamenei. "The aggression by Saudi Arabia against Yemen and its innocent people was a mistake... It has set a bad precedent in the region,"
His comments come as Saudi Arabia continued strikes against the Houthi for a second week, as they battled for control of the southern city of Aden. Mr Khamenei warned Saudi Arabia that it would “not emerge victorious”.
Meanwhile US Secretary of State John Kerry accused Iran of backing the Houthi, saying “There are obviously supplies that have been coming from Iran. There are a number of flights every single week that have been flying in."
At least 643 people have been killed in fighting so far according to the World Health Organisation.
