Iran agrees nuclear deal that sees lifting of international sanctions

Iran and six world powers reached a deal on Tuesday, with an agreement that concluded over a decade of negotiation over the nation's nuclear programme.

The deal will see sanctions imposed by the United States, European union and United Nations lifted in return for Iran agreeing long-term curbs on a nuclear program that has been suspected of creating a nuclear bomb.

Praising the agreement as a step towards a “more hopeful world” US President Barack Obama, said, that he would veto any measures in US congress to block the agreement from being implemented by the US.

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani, in a televised address on Tuesday, said,

“Today is the end to acts of tyranny against our nation and the start of cooperation with the world. This is a reciprocal deal. If they stick to it, we will. The Iranian nation has always observed its promises and treaties.”
