Egypt's army has said it will protect the populations right to peaceful protest, as the deposed president's followers are planning marches, supporting Mohammed Morsi.
"Peaceful protest and freedom of expression are rights guaranteed to everyone, which Egyptians have earned as one of the most important gains of their glorious revolution," an army statement said.
Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood has rejected the coup by the military and demanded his release from military custody.
